TavernCentral ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform at taverncentral.com and any related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By using TavernCentral, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Organization accounts: Name, email address, password, organization name, address, website, bio, sector, and logo.
- Event data: Event name, description, dates, venue, cover images, and attendee settings.
- Attendee registrations: Full name, email address, phone number, organization/company, and reason for attending.
- Payment information: For paid events, payment is processed by Paystack. We receive a transaction reference and status — we do not store card details.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
- IP address, browser type, and operating system.
- Pages visited, time spent, and referring URLs.
- Device identifiers and usage patterns.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication data from AWS Cognito (our identity provider).
- Payment status from Paystack for paid event registrations.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your organization account and events.
- Process attendee registrations and generate tickets.
- Send transactional emails (registration confirmations, ticket receipts, event notifications).
- Verify payments and prevent fraud.
- Improve and personalize the Platform experience.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Organization accounts and associated event data are retained for the lifetime of the account. Attendee registration data is retained for up to 3 years from the event date, or until the organizer deletes it.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@taverncentral.com.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords are managed by AWS Cognito and never stored in plain text.
- Database access is restricted to authorized services via IAM roles.
- S3 storage buckets are private by default; assets are served via signed URLs or CloudFront.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your authentication session on the dashboard. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or analytics cookies at this time. We may use first-party analytics to understand Platform usage in aggregate.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing.

8. Children's Privacy
TavernCentral is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Our infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services in the US East (N. Virginia) region. By using TavernCentral, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States and potentially other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
